Is it safe to use color-safe (or regular) bleach to clean mildew/mold off colored plastics?

I have several old colored plastic collectibles, and unfortunately, they have mildewed/molded. Is color-safe bleach a good idea for cleaning them up and killing the mold/mildew? Or would something else be safer and more effective?
